About The Department
The Department of Philosophy is one of the Departments of our college, Prof. S. Nurul Hasan College. In fact, since the establishment of the college, the Department did not open.The Department of Philosophy has been opened in 2016. The Pass Course in Philosophy was started in 2016 and the Honours Course/Major Course in 2024. Teachers of the department, apart from lecturing to the classes have independently contributed much to the extension of philosophical knowledge by organizing, periodical lectures, students’ seminars, field/study tours. We the teachers and Students, one and all are proud of our department and hope to keep the lamp of learning ablaze through our endeavour to maintain our high standard of teaching and research.
Future Vision:
Philosophy is eternally important in all spheres of life. It teaches ethical values, helps us to know the psychological state of the human mind, and teaches us to live, understand, and develop society. India has a rich cultural legacy and heritage, which is based on a philosophy highly esteemed throughout the world. Thus, Philosophy cannot be eliminated from human life and will always remain important to make a better human being. The faculty and the students will establish the importance of the subject through its academic and extra-academic activities. Perhaps it has been rightly said … and miles to go before I sleep.
